On May 12, 2024, a one-day seminar was held at Idara-E-Tahqeeq-O-Tasneef-E-Islami to commemorate the services of the late Professor Safdar Sultan Islahi. More than 20 scholars participated and presented their valuable articles. From 2007 to 2017, Dr. Safdar served as the secretary of Idara Tahqeeq for ten years. During his tenure, many valuable works were accomplished within the institution, academic activities were expanded, construction projects were completed, and the institution's finances were stabilized.
The first session of the seminar started with the recitation of the Quran by Maulana Mahfoozur Rehman Nadvi. Amir Jamaat Syed Saadatullah Hussaini shared a video message, in which he said, "My relationship with Professor Safdar Sultan Islahi dates back to his initial association with the SIO. At that time, he was the General Secretary of the SIO. When Professor Safdar Sultan was appointed the secretary of the Idara Tahqeeq, he quickly understood the institution's challenges and dedicated himself to its development. He played an important role in the organization's growth through his management skills and continuous efforts."
While presenting the welcome speech, the secretary of the institution, Maulana Ashhad Jamal Nadvi said that the late Dr. Safdar's sincerity, dedication, and tireless effort towards the mission were commendable. He was deeply committed to making the process effective. His profound study of the Qur'an and Sunnah, motivational awareness, mujahid character, unwavering faith, good behavior with the brotherhood, understanding of matters, and sound judgment were notable. This revolutionary mujahid had a remarkable presence. Dawat, Jihad, Azimat, and Shahadat were the special subjects of his study. He worked diligently to improve the institution's system and provided resources for its development.
While delivering the keynote speech, Prof. Zafarul Islam Islahi said that Allah Almighty had endowed Dr. Safdar with various qualities, such as trustworthiness, honesty, commitment, and administrative ability. Additionally, he was an active activist with high moral standards. Prof. Zafarul Islam Islahi noted that one of Dr. Safdar's greatest virtues was his attitude toward critics; he regarded them as benefactors.
